Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Yes. Your primary physician will order the appropriate test by sending a written referral to our facility.
Does my insurance cover this kind of test?
Most insurance companies have benefits for electroencephalographic (EEG), sleep, and long-term monitoring.
How long does the test take?
Depending on the test(s) ordered by your child's physician, a patient may be at our facility from two hours to overnight. You will be advised about the length of your stay during scheduling. You will be given ample time to make necessary arrangements for other family members and obligations.
When are tests scheduled?
EEG and multiple sleep latency test observations are scheduled during daytime hours. Sleep studies begin around 7:00 p.m. and end the following morning.
When can I get my test results?
Your study results will be sent to your referring physician within 72 hours after completion of the study. Evaluation time can vary depending on the depth of the study requested by your physician. You should contact your doctor to receive your results.
